It's with a heavy heart that I must inform you that this site, Guild Wars Guru, will be shutting down on July 1st and will remain in Archive Mode. Over the past 11 years, we've become, and continued to remain, the #1 fansite for Guild Wars, and it's all because to you guys. Without such a strong and passionate community, Guru would have never made it this far and so we thank you for that.
And while we will be saying good-bye to our home here, we will continue to host forums for the GW community over at our sister site, Guild Wars 2 Guru. In fact, you are more than welcome to head on over now and begin posting. If you have any threads you'd like to transfer over, now would be the time.
So once again thank you, and especially those that contributed their time and knowledge to make Guru the amazing place it was. We'll see you over at Guild Wars 2 Guru!
Ever since me mom downloaded Cyber Sitter and put on AVG I haven't been able to download Guild Wars patches anymore... What can I do? I tried turning off the windows firewall but it didn't do anything.
Your virus protection AVG is not causing the problem. Cybersitter, on the other hand, as well as other content blockers, have been well documented to prevent players from enjoying Guild Wars. What it really boils down to is that you need to ask why your mom invested 40$ to block contents from your PC. Once you figured that out and adapted your behavior (if applicable), the easiest solution might be to have an open talk with her and see if you can find a middle ground.
i guess u can always try to figure out how to crack the software! I assume u guys have multiple accounts since default is admin and u could just uninstall the software right. If you have a seperate account on your computer you can always try the usual passwords like the childrens names, family names, birthday, social security, etc. There are ways around it but I dont want any banning discussing it soooo, google around, you will defeat it.
If you can't figure out the password, try rebooting into safe mode. It allows access to the Admin account. The average user wouldn't know about this account so it might not have a password.
